Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
In short
- You don't need an account to take the test: we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- At the end of the test we store your answers and age anonymously, linked only to a random code, to improve the test's accuracy. We don't store your IP address.
- Payments are handled by Stripe: we never see your card details.
- No tracking or advertising cookies, no analytics tools, no sale of data.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Gabriele Colombo, Via Marciano 6, 20133 Milan, Italy. For any privacy question, write to support@UniqueIQtest.com.
2. What data we process and why
2.1 Data stored only on your device
While you take the test, the site stores in your browser's storage (localStorage) your answers, times, age, progress, the name you type for the statement of result, your light or dark theme choice and a count of the tests started on this device. They let you resume the test, calculate your result and show your report. The name typed for the statement of result never leaves your device; the only data sent to us is described in section 2.2. You can delete everything by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
2.2 Test data sent to our server
At the start of each test your browser generates a random session code, which contains no information about you. Together with this code we send to the server:
- at the start: start time, language, version and type of test (full or short), how many times you've taken the test before, if you tell us, and how many tests were started earlier on this device;
- at the end: for each matrix the option chosen, whether it was correct, the time spent, how many times you changed your answer and the matrix's technical features; whether time ran out; your age; the result shown in your report (estimated IQ, interval and percentile).
Purpose: to check that the test was taken within the time limits, to estimate the real difficulty of the matrices and the age norms, and to improve the accuracy of the score, including through statistical analysis. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the test's accuracy (Art. 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”). The data is kept to a minimum and pseudonymous: it contains no name, email or IP address. You can object at any time (section 9).
2.3 Purchases
If you unlock your result or the full report, payment takes place on the Stripe page. With its Managed Payments service, Stripe sells the content as the merchant of record through Link, its payment service, and processes the purchase data, such as name, email, country, billing address and payment details, as an independent controller under its own privacy policy and Link's. We never receive your card details.
Our server receives from Stripe only the payment code, the product purchased, the status of the payment, of a refund or of any dispute, and whether it is a test payment, linked to the test's session code, in order to unlock what you bought (legal basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). In the Stripe dashboard the controller can see order details such as email and country, and uses them only for support, refunds and legal obligations.
2.4 Technical browsing data
The site is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.). To deliver the pages and protect the service from abuse and attacks, Cloudflare automatically processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and time of request. We don't turn on request logs, don't use this data to identify you and don't link it to your test answers (legal basis: legitimate interest in running and securing the site).
2.5 Contact
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply (legal basis: legitimate interest in replying, or performance of a contract if your request concerns a purchase).
3. Cookies and browser storage
The site uses no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies and loads no content from other sites, such as fonts or videos. It only uses the browser storage described in section 2.1, which is strictly necessary for the test to work, so no consent is required. Stripe's payment page may use its own cookies, described in its policy.
4. Who we share data with
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosts the site and stores test and order data on our behalf, in a database located in the European Union, as a data processor.
- Stripe (Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates, including Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, in Ireland): handles payments and the sale through Link as an independent controller.
- Public authorities, only where required by law.
We don't sell or share data with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
Cloudflare and Stripe are based in the United States and may also process data there; test and order data is stored in the European Union. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
6. How long we keep data
- Test data (section 2.2): up to 5 years, after which we delete it or keep it only in aggregated, anonymous form.
- Order data (section 2.3): as long as needed to keep your purchase unlocked and to handle refunds and disputes, and no longer than 5 years. Stripe keeps its own sales records under its policy and tax obligations.
- Emails received: as long as needed to reply, and no longer than 2 years.
- Technical browsing data: for the period set by Cloudflare.
7. Minors
The test is designed for people aged 12 and over. If you are under 14, use the site together with a parent or guardian. If you are under 18, you need a parent's permission to make a purchase.
8. Automated decisions
Your estimated IQ is calculated automatically from your answers with a statistical model, but it has no legal effects and is not used to make decisions about you: it is not an automated decision under Art. 22 GDPR.
9. Your rights
You can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15–21 GDPR). Write to support@UniqueIQtest.com.
We don't know who you are: to find your data, give us your order number or the email used for the purchase. If you didn't buy anything, your test data is not linked to your identity and we are normally unable to find it (Art. 11 GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of the EU country where you live.
10. Changes
We may update this policy, for example if the way the site works changes. The date at the top shows the latest update.
